Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $499,989)
The 2009 Survey of Juveniles Charged in Adult Criminal Court (JCACC) will collect accurate and reliable case processing statistics for juveniles charged as adults in a national or sub-national sample of counties. Data collected will include offender identification number, demographic information of the juveniles, offender delinquency and/or criminal history data, arrest charges if available, arraignment charge(s), elements of the crime that would cause transfer to adult court or make the juvenile a candidate for processing in the adult system, all availabe case processing information from arraignment through final case disposition, type of facility where defendant is held, and the legal mechanism employed to process the matter in adult court.
