Five supplemental tables are presented for the survey of youth in U.S. juvenile correctional facilities regarding any forced or coerced sexual activity with another youth or with facility staff within the prior 12 months.
One of the supplemental tables shows the percentages of youth who were sexually victimized in named facilities with high rates of such victimizations, with percentages distinguished by youth-on-youth sexual victimization and staff sexual misconduct. For all U.S. juvenile facilities, 1.9 percent of the facilities had residents who reported youth-on-youth sexual victimization, and 5.8 percent of facilities had residents who reported staff sexual misconduct. The facility that ranked highest for youth-on-youth sexual victimization was the Macon Youth Development Campus in Georgia (14.3 percent), and the facility that ranked highest for staff sexual misconduct was the Liberty Juvenile Unit for Specialized Treatment in Florida (26.1 percent). A second supplemental table provides statistics for facilities with high rates of youth-on-youth forced or coerced sexual acts distinguished by "other" forced or coerced youth-on-youth sexual activity and "unknown" type of forced or coerced youth-on-youth sexual activity. A third supplemental table provides percentages for juvenile facilities with high rates of sexual victimization for staff sexual misconduct distinguished by victimizations that were reported and those unreported. A fourth supplemental table shows victimization percentages for juvenile facilities with high rates of forced or coerced sexual acts with staff distinguished by "other" forced or coerced sexual activity with staff and "unknown" type of forced or coerced sexual activity with staff. The fifth supplemental table shows percentages for facilities with high rates of sexual acts with staff without force or coercion and other sexual activity with staff without force or coercion.
