Abstract

The Wyoming History Record Act governs all systems of records for the collection, maintenance, use, and dissemination of individually identifiable criminal history record information by any criminal justice agency. The act applies to criminal history record information compiled for all felonies, high misdemeanors, and other misdemeanors determined by the division, but does not apply to violations of municipal ordinances. Article 1 contains general provisions for access to and dissemination of information, as well as for information to be submitted to the central repository, along with procedures for audits and interstate exchanges. Title 9 contains mandates for the Criminal Identification Division's identification systems, information recorded, persons included, and systematic maintenance and indexing. Also included in this compendium are statutory provisions for criminal history checks on pharmacists, real estate agents, and insurance agent license applicants. Article 2 of Title 16 contains sections on the right to inspect public records and grounds for denial. Other provisions pertain to copies or photographs, fees for furnishing information, and the penalty for violations.
