The purpose of the State Justice Statistics Program for Statistical Analysis Centers Technical Assistance (SJS-SAC TA) Program is to support the goals and objectives of the Bureau of Justice Statistics' State Justice Statistics Program, and provide direct technical assistance and training to statistical analysis centers to enhance their statistical, research, and organizational capabilities.
Under this award, the Justice Research and Statistics Association (JRSA) will perform numerous duties under the SJS-SAC TA Program. Tasks will include: 1) developing and maintaining a Mutual Assistance Program for SACs; 2) designing and providing skill-building professional seminars; 3) organizing and operating Institutional Review Boards (IRB) for the protection of human subjects; and 4) providing new SAC director orientation. Technical assistance and training provided under this program will include direct onsite visits, telephone and web services, webinars and online training tools, and data collection and publication of criminal justice related surveys and materials. JRSA will rely on its experience with working with BJS, the SACs, and other criminal justice agencies in developing a successful program. CA/NCF
