Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $49,596)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.
Under this award, the Alaska Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) proposes to expand its National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) XML schema library by creating a subsection to house Information Exchange Package Documents (IEPD) to be shared among criminal justice agencies. The project will make datasets XML schemas, meta-data, and IEPD's available to criminal justice agencies through the SAC website. Authorized agencies and personnel will be invited to share in the use of the process and information resulting from the project. Funds are also requested to pay travel expenses to the annual NIEM workshop and BJS/JRSA conference. CA/NCF
