Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $48,050)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each state's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each state to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the state, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their states.
The Pennsylvania Statistical Analysis Center (SAC), located within the Pennsylvania Commission of Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), will use SJS funds to continue the enhancement of the PCCD website, specifically the portion established for the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Strategic Policy Development (ORESPD). The website will be enhanced to expand the availability of data on the following areas of interest: criminal justice databases for research purposes; justice reporting requirements; PA crime statistics; criminal justice expenditures; and criminal justice personnel. The website will contain a basic administration system designed to allow the site administrator to add new fields and metadata easily without the need to edit pages directly. The website will be constructed in a manner to allow further expansion of site needs as additional information is obtained from the state's criminal and public safety agencies.
