Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $119,752)
The Tribal Criminal History Record Improvement (T-CHRIP) Program provides support to Federally-recognized tribes and State criminal records repositories to promote participation in and improve data sharing between tribal, State, and national criminal records systems.
Under this award, the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation will enhance the Tribe's law enforcement capabilities by automating their manual records management system. To electronically share local crime data with state and federal systems, the Tribe will purchase and install livescan equipment and Swift Justice records management software and provide training to personnel staff.
The installation of a Livescan/AFIS workstation, along with server and software, at the Rocky Boy Department of Public Safety will allow a secured flow of more accurate criminal and non-criminal data within the tribe and with state and federal agencies.
