Collective Efficacy and Crime in Rural Wyoming Communities with Rapid Natural Resource Related Economic Development and Tribal Crime Data Reporting Project

The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each State's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each State to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the State, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their States.

Under this award, Wyoming's Statistical Analysis Center (WYSAC), housed in the University of Wyoming, will conduct a survey to examine how economic growth rates impact the public's perceptions of community cohesion and crime. In addition, WYSAC will collaborate with Wind River tribal and law enforcement representatives to conduct two projects related to the collection and distribution of tribal crime data.
