Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $50,800)
The State Justice Statistics (SJS) Program is designed to maintain and enhance each State's capacity to address criminal justice issues through collection and analysis of data. The SJS Program provides support to each State to coordinate and conduct statistical activities within the State, conduct research to estimate impacts of legislative and policy changes, and serve as a liaison in assisting BJS to gather data from respondent agencies within their States.
Under this award, the Delaware Statistical Analysis Center will carry out four activities: 1) obtain statewide data on deaths occurring in the process of arrest or in pursuit of arrest; 2) maintain criminal justice system performance measures; 3) conduct analysis of criminal history records and DOC treatment records; and 4) conduct research using incident-based crime data that are compatible with the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) to be published in "Crime in Delaware Report."
