Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $2,277,642)
Under this award, the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office requests funds to purchase livescan devices for nine sheriffs or county offices and three local police departments. Funds will be transferred to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to purchase an iOS version of its integrated mobile application needed to meet the state security standard. Additional funds will be transferred to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) for a livescan replacement project to provide the devices to agencies in need to complete the flow of criminal justice information being transmitted into the state and federal repositories. OSBI will also hire two additional staff to help improve the timeliness of data entry in the state's computerized criminal history (CCH) system to ensure quality reviews and eliminate the backlog. Primary outcomes for the grant include: 1) improving the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of fingerprints recorded and submitted via livescans to OSBI and federal repositories; 2) completing demographics of inmates by collecting, storing and transferring data to the OSBI; and 3) continuing to receive quality reviews in the CCH and keeping backlogged reviews to zero.
