FY23 Alabama NCHIP Supplemental Funding

Under this award, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) requests funding for four tasks. To advance the submissions of full biometric information for each arrestee in the state, ALEA intends to purchase 12 biometric livescan devices for local law enforcement agencies. ALEA also plans to purchase a secure internet-based gateway server to connect to the state Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS). In addition, ALEA intends to outsource the scanning for approximately 900,000 fingerprint cards for entry into the ABIS. Lastly, ALEA will acquire services to analyze and prepare historic and current crime data for thoroughness and accuracy for inclusion in the new CCH.
