Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $692,208)
The Judiciary Courts of the State of Indiana will use FY22 NCHIP funds to build on the work that the Indiana Office of Court Technology (IOCT) started approximately ten years ago when it developed an interface between Odyssey, the statewide case management system initiative, and the criminal history database at ISP dubbed CHRIS. The project will focus on improving the number of dispositions sent from Odyssey to CHRIS by the courts and clerks. There are two phases to the project. First, IOCT will develop a software application that would display the cases with errors that are rejected when sent from Odyssey to CHRIS through the interface. The application will also display the cases that have no fingerprints displayed on the case. Second, IOCT will hire two consultants who will train clerk and court staff on the intricacies of the dataflow to CHRIS and how to work the error report in the new application so that the dispositions are accepted to CHRIS successfully. IOCT will develop an application that will be more user friendly, and improve the ability of users to correct the rejected records for successful resubmission.
