Nebraska State Patrol FY21 NARIP

The Nebraska State Patrol is requesting funding for the following: 1) support the NICS Program Manager and a Crime Analyst to continue efforts to implement the NE NICS Improvement Plan; 2) continuing support to analyze nearly 20,000 identified historical MCDV records from the past seven years for potential entry into the NICS Indices; 3) continuing the development of the felony automated reporting system to ensure felony convictions not available to III due to a lack of fingerprints are reported to the NICS Indices; 4) upgrading the Electronic Commitment Reporting Application (ECRA) to address concerns regarding the usability of the database as well as improve the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of Nebraska’s mental health NICS Indices records; 5) continuing support for a NCIC Program Manager and two Crime Analysts to staff the CPO providing technical support and training for the Protection Order Portal, for Douglas County’s protection order entry, and for the Nebraska Crime Commission’s PO Portal enhancement project; 6) continuing support for two temporary record technicians to research criminal history records in the process of concealed weapons permit applications.
