BJS seeks a Supervisory Grants Management Specialist for the Criminal Justice Data Improvement Programs Unit who will be responsible for major national programs that support state and tribal governments in developing their capabilities to provide criminal justice statistics. Job duties include—
- supervising a group of employees performing work at the GS-14 or equivalent level
- directing the development and management of all BJS programs associated with improving the quality and coverage of federal, state, and local information systems, with a primary focus on criminal history records, records of protective orders involving domestic violence and stalking, sex offender registries, and automated identification and background check systems
- planning and coordinating evaluations or investigations of outstanding scope, difficulty, and complexity in unexplored program areas of critical importance to the agency
- advising senior leadership on complex regulatory, legal, and public policy implications of sensitive program issues.
