BJS is seeking a Statistician (Confidentiality Officer) to design and operate its confidentiality program for access to BJS's statistical data, including implementing governing standards to assess data sensitivity, application of appropriate statistical disclosure limitation techniques, and disclosure risk procedures to determine appropriate tiered access methods. Job duties include—
- consulting or participating in the application of statistical theories, techniques, and methods to the interpretation of regulatory data used to support compliance enforcement activities, such as the determination and initiation of corrective and legal actions. Compliance activities consist of enforcing industry, federal, state, and local rules, regulations, policies, and/or standards.
- reviewing and evaluating scientific data, mathematical and statistical methods, and the procedures and concepts involved with applications submitted by regulated industry for the approval of products or substances, such as new drugs. Applying the principles and techniques of statistical theories and methods to the interpretation of quantified information used in scientific reviews and regulatory applications.
- researching and/or analyzing problems, issues, or program requirements.
