BJS is pleased to announce Amy D. Lauger as its new Statistical Research Specialist. Amy has nearly 20 years of experience in the federal statistical system, including 15 years as a mathematical statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau. Her BJS career began in 2019 as the unit chief for Reentry, Recidivism, and Special Projects. She is thrilled to transition to this new role, where she will coordinate data collection and analysis that involve multiple BJS units and other offices and agencies inside and outside the Justice Department.
Amy earned two master’s degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary, a graduate certificate in project management from the George Washington School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences from Clemson University. Amy looks back at 2019 with fondness, because in addition to joining BJS, her two favorite sports teams—the Clemson Tigers and the Washington Nationals—won the college football national championship and the World Series, respectively.
