BJS is seeking a supervisory statistician to serve as chief of the Victimization Statistics Unit. Among eligibility requirements, applicants must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university with a specific number of hours in statistics or on other topics (see full Qualifications Statement). Among job duties are—
- overseeing the sample design, methods of collection, data quality control, estimation procedures, and analytic plans for major data collections
- providing technical assistance and guidance to projects involving complex methodological issues or serving as an expert on broad statistical research or specialized statistical methods
