BJS is seeking a supervisory statistician to serve as chief of the Corrections Unit. Applicants must have a bachelor's or higher-level degree from an accredited college or university with a specific number of hours in statistics and other related topics. - planning, scheduling, and assigning work to supervised staff and providing technical guidance to contractors or grantees to ensure work is performed according to established procedures, specifications, and requirements
- developing and following best practices related to data collection, analysis, and dissemination and performing statistical data-collection activities to satisfy immediate, mid-range, and long-term statistical data collection requirements
- consulting and collaborating with governmental officials, professional associations, and others to advise on the application of statistics to criminal justice issues, policies, and programs.
